Lwcus T is proud to present ‘Seagal’ the tenth single from the monthly Sywel Nyw singles project in 2021

October's guest is Iolo Selyf, lead vocalist of one of the most interesting and energetic bands of the Welsh music scene over the last decade, Ffug.

'Seagal' combines Sywel Nyw’s electronic production with Iolo's raw attitude and fierce lyrics. This is a song that celebrates the existence and contribution of b-list actor Steven Seagal, and 80s clichés. Iolo’s lyrics take a humorous look at the oddities of the passage of time. The lyrical catchline (which translates as) “you look like Steven Seagal, you move like Steven Seagal” contrasts the over masculinised Seagal from his action packed 80s movies to the ageing Seagal of now, being interviewed from the comfort of his grandad armchair.

A special video accompanies the single, filmed and directed by two North Wales-based artists, now living in London, Wubacub and Billy Bagilhole. The video re-imagines Seagal in crazy locations, including a computer game and as a cartoon character in a western.

‘Seagal’ will be out on Friday 29 October.
